INTERGALACTIC DARK MATTER..
SAVING THE UNIVERSE FROM EXTINCTION..

Story Synopsis..
Saving the Universe From Extinction..
The Universe Is Expanding At Great Speeds.
Can Dark Matter Save The Universe.

SCIFI author Hank Curci who holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Stanford University, looks at the mysterious Dark Matter..
Dark Matter is found throughout the Milky Way Galaxy and the Universe at large.
What is it, can it save the Universe from extinction.
We do not know what DARK MATTER is we can only see its GRAVITATIONAL EFFECTS when measuring the rotational velocity of the Milky Way Galaxy.
This galactic rotation value is incorrect when only the visible stars are used..
Hence there is something else contributing to the mass of the milky way galaxy and that SOMETHING is labeled DARK MATTER of which we have no idea what it is.
NOTE: There is also something called DARK ENERGY which is not to be confused with DARK MATTER…
Dark matter does not absorb substantial electromagnetic radiation at any wavelength.
The question remains:
All the stars and galaxies in the universe are flying away from each other at great speeds…
Will there be enough gravity to stop this expansion or will the universe continue to expand for many billions of years and finally die having no more life-giving stars and galaxies.
Astrophysicist are asking if the mass of the dark matter will step in and stop the expansion recollecting the cosmos in to another big bang….it may take 50 billion years to find out the fate of the Universe.
However, if our Universe is just one of millions of other Universes, as some scientist speculate, then it really doesn’t mater if we lose an occasional hundred millions galaxies and trillions of stars it just keeps going on and on..

Replacing The Great Hubble Space Telescope That Gave Us Wonderful Pictures Of Universe Magnificent.
THE JAMES WEBB SPACE TELESCOPE
The wonderful Hubble Telescope, giving us spectacular pictures of the Universe.
Hubble will be given its last command in 2018 to close it’s door and return home to Mother Earth burning up in the atmosphere and plunging into Historic Oblivion and the Pacific Ocean.
The end of an era of great discovery for Mankind… all is
not lost however .
Hubble’s replacement is the James Webb Space Telescope which will orbit well beyond the moon and is expected to give us even more spectacular views of galaxies and stars that formed near the birth of the Universe.
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a large, infrared-optimized space telescope, scheduled for launch in 2014.
JWST will find the first galaxies that formed in the early Universe, connecting the Big Bang to our own Milky Way Galaxy
JWST will peer through dusty clouds to see stars forming planetary systems, connecting the Milky Way to our own Solar System. JWST’s instruments will be designed to work primarily in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum, with some capability in the visible range.
JWST will have a large mirror, 6.5 meters (21.3 feet) in diameter and a sunshield the size of a tennis court. Both the mirror and sunshade won’t fit onto the rocket fully open, so both will fold up and open once JWST is in outer space. JWST will reside in an orbit about 1.5 million km (1 million miles) from the Earth.

Each Point Of Light Is A Galaxy Like Our Own Milky Way Galaxy.
Hubble’s Abell 1689, A Galaxy Cluster.

SYNOPSIS
In an image that meshes both visible and infrared data, the Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys, or A.C.S., showed Abell 1689, a galaxy cluster, in more striking detail than in previous observations.
The picture has a combined exposure time of more than 34 hours.
Glowing golden clumps, bright stars and distant spiral galaxies are all visible.
And the streaks circling the fuzzy galaxies in the center are telltale signs of gravitational lensing, a cosmic phenomenon.
