ALGEBRA IN ANCIENT ROME
Algebra did not make it to Europe till about 450AD, after the fall of Rome, then in 830AD finally put together by the great Arab Mathematician Al Jabar.

Had the Roman Empire been given Algebra and our Arabic numbers they may not have fallen in 450AD to the Barbarians.
They only had the cumbersome Roman numerals to compute their engineering..
This is remarkable knowing what Engineering Marvels they had accomplished such as the marvelous Roman Pantheon shown below still as beautiful today as it was 2,000 years ago.
