Whizzing Off Into Outer Space At Speed Of Light…By Hank Curci, SCIFI Author

STORY SYNOPSIS

It is great fun to immerse ourselves in the scientific fantasy of whizzing off into outer space at many times the speed of light, visiting exotic worlds and the like.

Unfortunately, as far as we can tell, it is a fantasy simply because, as Albert Einstein and others have shown, objects cannot travel faster than the speed of light (186,000 miles per second).

The reason is as an object goes faster and faster, its mass increases; and as the object approaches the speed of light, its mass becomes infinite, thus requiring an infinite force to accelerate an infinite mass.

Albert Einstein also tells us even if we could go faster than light we are still dealing with the time disparagement  function i.e. the  faster you go the slower you age.

For Example: A Star Trek training cruise on the Star Ship Enterprise for six weeks at warp three ( 3.6 times the speed of light ) would bring back the Ship’s crew about 300 years in to their future to a time totally unknown to them.

The whole thing is incredably complicated however there may be hope.

Some scientists believe there is a particle called a TACHYON (which means “swift” in Greek) that can travel faster than light and cannot be slowed down.

If so, we could send messaging telemetry to other parts of the galaxy in days rather than thousands of years, and see if there really are little green people out there.

So far, however, we have not found the elusive TACHYON.
